10 Species at Stockbridge Down. I did not expect many more ‘butterfly days’ this year but really delighted with the 10 species spotted at Stockbridge Down with Claire Hartt-Palmer and Nic Burns. Common Blue 22, Clouded Yellow 20, Small Copper 16, Brimstone 8, Meadow Brown 4, Speckled Wood 4, Small White 2, Red Admiral 2, Holly Blue 1, and Small Heath 1. Also saw Hummingbird Hawk-moth 1, Vapourer Moth 18 and Silver Y Moth 1. We watched several Small Copper egg-laying and a big thank you to Nic Burns for finding a couple of eggs.
